Hi, been looking around for a suitable suv crossover and have decided the t cross fits the bill. Visited the dealer again today ( 2nd visit)
And test drove a 115ps in manual and automatic. I really want a auto however the manual was a nice drive its making it a harder choice to pay the extra. Going back to the dealer next weekend so ive a few days to consider my options.
Im intending to add into the se,,,,, auto mirrors, rev camera, keyless entry, and the active info display. In whichever drive i chose.
However being an older guy was surprised a cd player wasnt an option as i have a room of cd's and nothing on my phone lol.
One of the cars i tested today had the beats pack and did have a CD player in the glovebox. So im guessing its only available as part of the beats option and not as standalone?
So im deciding which gbox to chose and if i chose the cheaper manual i could go with the beats pack. Auto is at the top of my budget so couldnt justify getting both.
I must have the longest purchase ever. I cant get back to dealership today, salesman not in sat/sun and i cant get there in the week.
Now booked in to order next sat at 9:45. He did offer the option to buy through email but as im trading in and optioning the tcross i want to do it in the dealership.
Dealer said delivery in 12 weeks, but looking at some of the post on this excellent site that seems optimistic. Bought a few new cars in the past this one has captured my imagination - can't wait, its a bit of a surprise / present. Went for the new VW Aqua colour, haven't seen any in real life only photos hoping its as good as it looks

When I picked mine up there was a lady collecting her aqua just before me.beautiful colour! My car was quicker than scheduled so hopefully yours will too!
You should have an order number as well so you can follow the order status in the app or online and your dealer should tell you what the estimated build week is.
That is something I am considering, delaying order for a couple of months and going for the new registration and March delivery, not convinced I want a new car going into the winter months. Dealer told delivery would be slightly longer due to my spec. Did ask if going for a DSG affected delivery times, but dealer said no, but not sure dealer always knows what's going on in the factory, so I take some of their answers with a pinch of salt!
Note the factory shuts down for August, as the Spanish head for their holidays and who knows how Brexit may effect car delivery and costs, so perhaps best to get by 31/10.
Hopefully you will be able to get an October delivery as you require, dealer did mention factory is prioritising UK orders to get shipped by latest Brexit deadline of 31/10. (Not sure if how true this statement was, but makes sense).
Suspect delivery times are only likely to go up as the car becomes more popular and orders are placed, very good write up in recent Auto Express.
Ok, again poor salesman contribution to my purchase. Said he would ring this week to confirm the order and set the app up. Nothing all week.
So im stood in the showroom this morning talking to the sales manager. Seemed a good time to enlighten him as to all the chasing ive done to get this sale an the apparent lack of effort at times from the salesman.
Missed calls when he said he would, appointments to drive cars that wernt there, appointments to drive dars with no fuel in them. He was not impressed. I think a chat will be had when the salesmans in again.
So i had a few questions from last weeks order and hes sorted everything out satisfactorily and set the app up. I forgot to ask a expected build date but he did say he will contact me with the order no as soon as its through next week. Im happy to sit on the app then and just watch..
As far as suggested to hold off till after jan i dont see the point, at trade in all they seem to care about is condition/ mileage as all the cars get farmed out to smaller dealers and auctions. Reg seems to have little if any impact. Especially with agreed future value on pcp. Avoiding the worst of the winter is pointless as there'll be another one along next year  . I do use the best products on the paint protection though. None of this scratch n wash for a fiver
So, hopefully a order number next week and when the app recognises it i can join the queue of us waiting
Good rationale if buying on pcp. There seems to high demand on the tcross, VW will know the best advertisement is getting some on the road asap. Its a bit of a secrete in my house which I'm terrible at keeping so need delivery urgently. Didn't know about the lack of spare wheel I'll buy one when car arrives
Active info display is well worth the relative small cost............ Gives many options on the dash displays , looks great, and is very upto date....must have in my view..! Also the rear view camera is excellent and, of course, park assist..!
Took delivery of mine last week and love it..!
Nice halin9 , good to see them coming through. More updats as you do more miles
I agree. The active info display is well worth the extra , looks smart and lots of options.
Finally got my order number today and as youd expect its at stage2 order with factory. Ive joined the waiting list. Dealer has suggested build week 36 up to now

Thanks for the positive comments on the Active Info Display.
Just Test driven a SEL which had the Active Info Display and 18" tyres !
Liked the Display - added to my options list.
Was disapppointed with the hard ride and steering on the bad uneven surfaces of some country lanes which we drove on, thought we had tyre pressure problems at first but am assuming it is the 18" low profile tyres which are not standard. It was quite a shock after driving my Yeti ( 17" tyres) over similar roads without any noticeable affect on the ride and steering.
Anyway look set to place an order, being offered about £450 discount plus £750 discount from a finance deal which I can cancel within 14 days with no penalties but still keeping the discount.
Options will be: Folding mirrors, High Beam assist, Active Info display and Spare Wheel.
I will need to get the towbar fitted at least 24hrs after taking delivery to meet some emissions regs.
Interesting..you will be pleased with the active display... I'm surprised what you say about the ride..mine has the 18 inch wheels and floats over road humps etc...much better than my previous Citroen, also on 18 inch wheels..
