Re: The car is now 1 year old

The first 2 services are free as part of the purchase deal. The first service is just an oil change and car check.

Re: The car is now 1 year old

I took the car in on Friday for the first service (oil change and car inspection), it took 2 hours. They wanted £20 for a loan car so I decided to do the shopping locally whilst I waited. They did the dash/A pillar noise problem saying it had to be tackled from behind the glove box not by removing t...

The car is now 1 year old

Having had the car a year next week the first service is due. However under current restrictions the main dealer is closed for all but urgent works, and I'm not too inclined to venture out unnecessarily. I assume there won't be any issues with VW in not meeting the service schedules should it be del...

Re: Space Saver Wheel for SE

I have just bought an 18" space saver spare wheel on eBay for £130, complete with jack and wheel brace, it fits comfortably in the wheel well in the boot. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-T-Cross-Space-Saver-Spare-Wheel-18-New-Jack-Wheel-Spanner/193056874050?fits=Model%3AT-Cross&hash=item2cf3161e42:g:a...

Re: T-Cross Injury

Mine got scraped all across the front the 2nd week I had it, I think by someone doing a 3 point turn in the road. As it is a non metallic finish I was able to give a rub down and a respray using paint and a lacquer finish bought on eBay.

Re: should you have to drive in first gear

Based on my experience in my car with a 6 speed manual gearbox, other posts on this and the German forum there is an issue with the stop start system it's not a stall and it doesn't happen when the stop start system is switched off.

Re: Rear seat belts

You can't but I bought some inserts on eBay which you can put into the belt clip receivers to fool the system. They work. They are sold in pairs, buy 2 pairs and cut them down so they don't stick up. I'll post some details and photo's later.

SS doesn’t cut in when the car is in gear...I don’t see any issues here
It shouldn't do but it does!

Re: should you have to drive in first gear

Well it certainly happens with cars with a manual gearbox. If you're stuck across a junction because your car has just cut out it's too late to be faffing about pressing buttons or trying to get the engine to restart. VW need to have a stop start system without faults, others can manage it, after al...

Re: should you have to drive in first gear

Absolutely not, there is a fault with the stop/start system they need to rectify. Don't blame the driver or expect them to modify their driving style to compensate for it.
