Watching the video is the "Best and most comprehensive review for prospective owners" thread(43:13 mark)

It mentions sign assist...but I dont remember specifically seeing anything mentioned on the VW website etc

Not sure, I will have a play..

I do know that the SatNav in my SEL displays the red speed limit road signs but I think that comes from SatNav maps rather than by recognising the road signs.

There is a forward facing camera up by the rear view mirror which I believe is for the Adaptive Cruise (ACC), so it is not beyond the realms of possibility that this camera could be used to look for road signs.

I have been playing with all the settings and active info and I don't remember seeing an option for Sign Assist ?

There's no evidence of sign assist on mine.
