Hello there, has anyone found out if this is standard or will it be available as an option.
Can't find out any info on this feature.
Looking to order an SEL model soon.

It would appear that on the VW German web site configurator the folding seat is not available on their base model but is standard on the other models.

Good question Exeforde - there are a number of features that are 'missing'! They have sorted the spare wheel thankfully.
The folding front passenger seat would be very useful so hopefully, as IWRA suggests, it may be standard on SE and above.
There is also nothing about the ability to wirelessly charge your mobile using a mat in the centre console - that would be useful too.
Drive mode select is not mentioned either - I am hoping that too is standard for the SEL.
Finally something called 'DataPlug' is mentioned in the price list in the S section - is that standard fit or do you have to pay for it?
As I said in a previous post, early adopters just have to grin and bear it!

Drive mode select is mentioned, as you say, at £140, in the pricelist but nowhere to be found on the configurator or standard equipment. Could you explain where you found that? Thanks.

I would be happier if this option appeared on the Configurator. When my dealer looked for it on the official Configurator it was not available. It could be that the price list is wrong in that it should show as an option for the S model and standard for SE and upwards. Anyway time will tell - it will be interesting to see if the first edition cars come with this option.

I recieved this reply to my enquiry:-

Thank you for contacting Volkswagen Customer Services.

I can confirm the folding passenger seat is a standard feature of the Volkswagen T-Cross.

Further information regarding this vehicle can be found on our website: https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/about-us/news/2018/07/the-new-t-cross-covered-drive/2

I hope you find this information useful. If we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us on the number below.

i hope the info in the link is current, it's dated July 2018.
It also mentions the choice of a 150ps (1.5 ) engine which isn't happening yet. Probably not a bad thing given the problems that are being reported on the T Roc.
Regarding the Drive Mode Select, I have it as standard on my Q2 with a DSG gearbox, and to be honest never use it. In sports mode it does make the steering heavier, and hold the gears longer, but does not change the suspension. A similar action can be obtained by just pulling back on the gear lever whilst in drive. This was the same on my Polo SEL.
I just leave it in comfort mode, but then I am an old man.

Hope his helps

Visited my dealer yesterday & drove the SE, the SEL arrives next week.
Loved the car, drove really well, But NO folding passenger seat & no option to order it.
What a stupid thing to omit, takes away that extra versatility.
The dealer thought it might be to do with left & right hand drive etc
Glass roof is only available in country's like Brazil !.
Anyone else had the same situation?.

Looking at the French web site (see link below) it would appear that only the SEL and First Edition get a folding seat as standard, but it's anybody's guess if that applies to the UK. I've not got any more information from the dealer on the First Edition that I have ordered than the limited 2 page promotional information that appeared on the web site. My car is due at the dealers next week, having arrived in Sheerness on 21 March. I'll have a better idea in a weeks time!

Really looking to hearing your feedback on the car when you get it. It will be a surprise if it has the folding front passenger seat. Let us know if you get the Driver Profile Selection. I found it quite useful in the Arona I test drove but others think it does not offer much.
Make sure you ask about the Data Plug - meant to be supplied free I think and gives helpful car data via VW Connect app.

Can I ask which dealer that was please? I've called several and been told 'end of April' for demonstrators.

We test drove an Arona 1.0 115 DSG and liked the handling/performance, but my wife didn't find the seats comfortable. T-Cross comes with lumbar support but want to try sitting in one before buying.

Latest on the above !.
Email from VW today to say the Folding Seat is not an option on UK spec cars.
Due to Right Hand drive, modification needed.
Great shame , looses some versatility.

Thanks again for the tip, we sat in the R-Line in Slough and the SE in Camberley, and had a look around the First edition. Think we will be ordering an SEL based on spec - R-Line does look great but don't like the black headlining and don't want 18 inch wheels. For anyone considering Beats, the sub woofer means you can't lower the boot floor and you lose a lot of space as a result.

Overall thought it was much nicer than the Arona, though as reviews state the material quality is a step down from the Polo and what we have in our Mk2 Tiguan.

Has anyone updated their sat nav recently.
I failed yesterday, ( using Windows 10)
Found out that my car delivered July 2019 has the previous years maps, issue 9.
They are now on 12.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Not sure why you asked that here rather than a new thread, anyway the versions you're mentioning don't tally with the versions available. Mine, MY20 came with 2019/2020 maps, I've update mine.

Original version 1115 ECE1 2019/2020

Current version 1410 ECE1 2020/2021 (Build 309)

File name DiscoverMedia2_EU1_1410_V12

Downloaded from the VW website. Downloading was a pain, tried many times before was successful, but the putting the files on the card was easy.
