I was just wondering how hard current T-Cross owners are revving their little 1.0L motors ?

Mine has only done 150 miles so I am currently trying to keep it below 3000 rpm for a bit on the advice of my dealer.

The reason I ask is that because I am keeping the revs down I am finding there is very little torque down there.
A bit of research has found that the figures show max power is between 5000 and 5500 rpm.

The car does feel like it wants to rev though, so looking forward to giving it a go once it has loosened up a bit.

Do you guys get the dial up towards the red line if driving enthusiastically?

The book says not to rev it over 2/3rd of max rpm the first 1000km, then increase revs gradually until 1500km.

I tried to stick with that, so I did max 4k rpm the first 1000km.

Now it sees the red line pretty often when driving out of town.

You are right about the little torque in the low revs, the engine seems lively over 2500 rpm, under that is pretty dissapointing

It takes about 1,000 miles for the engine to loosen up. It's quite happy around 3,000rpm and pulls well. I have no complaints having got used to it.

Now I have done just over a 1000 miles in my T-Cross I have been using up to 4,000 rpm and occasionally up to 5,000 rpm when overtaking.

Little engine doesn't seem to mind, pulls OK'ish and makes a lovely roar, probably a three cylinder thing !!

Haven't dared approach the red line, but guessing some of you have, did it object ?
