I got a letter saying that my vw insurance is changing to Allianz with immediate effect.

Has anyone had a renewal with Allianz and if so were there any major changes.

I looked on the Allianz website and it said that all communication or changes to your policy is on-line only. Apparently you cant talk to anyone which alarms me.

I am in my 70's and struggle with on line things eg I found out recently that I had been locked out of my telephone banking because I put the wrong password in 5 times.

Any advice is very welcome.

I am with Allianz and in my 70's. They took over my previous insurer - Flow. I renewed last year with no issues and due to renew again next month. They are on line only but I manage very well to do things like this on line. If you have any difficulties it is worth asking a friend or relative to help.

@Frank thanks for your response. I had been intending to put my private number plate K155CBG which i have for about 20 years on to my Tcross but haven't got round to it yet. Do you think this would be easy to do online with Allianz?

Yes it is easy. I put my own number on last year. You will just need to log in to your account and edit the car details with the new number. Allianz do advice and video which may help you.

Just came across this post – I’m in a similar situation now with my VW insurance being moved to Allianz and I'm wondering the same things. Everything is on line so your renewal offer will come by email. You may want to check your account and opt out of auto renewal otherwise your policy will renew when you may not want that to happen.

I logged on as an existing customer but no policy found

Probably need to check the letter from VW for details of how to access your policy following it's transfer to Allianz

Good idea. You will usually receive a renewal notice / price 30 days before expiry of your policy

I'm not with Allianz but NFU Mutual Insurance (not just for farmers). They send paper. Not the cheapest but win Which awards for claims service. Lovely people in their call centre which is in Scotland not India. Last I heard they made no admin charge for mid term adjustments and a two year replacement period from date of first registration if your one or two year old car is written off.

Have you received your renewal notice? My insurance renewal email arrived today. Renewal is due 26.09.25 and the price is 21p lower than last year so I will probably go with them again once I have done comparison sites later this week.

I haven't received my renewal which is due on 25/9/25. I will be happy if mine goes down by21p or stays the same. I will let you know when it arrives regards Chas

Dear All, I got my insurance renewal for my 74 plate 1.5 R-Line yesterday from Allianz and was shocked to say the least. In 50 years on the road.

I have never known the annual premium to go down but pleasantly surprised as I was expecting it to be north of £1000.

I am pleased that you got your renewal notice and that you are happy with the price. Mine is £406 and it was cheaper by £108 than on 3 comparison websites for the same Allianz top cover and so I am happy to renew on 27th Sept.

@Frank I renewed my insurance by phone today. I also asked about changing to my private registration plate at some time and she said I could go on line or simply phone them which suits me better.
