Appalling. I wouldn't buy from them as I would suspect that's possibly indicative of the service you are likely to receive from them in future. Who are they?

Murrays plymouth,,, inasked wether the newton abbot dealership would have another car. But no... i cant travel any further so now waiting for an auto to arrive. My mrs thinks i should make the manager aware of all the difficulties im having . Got no problem with the test drive car getting sold, that happens. Its everything else.

Was promised a call monday to update when they'd have a auto to test drive, no call mon/tue/wed . So went in today to see why not.
The sales guy im dealing with was in so expressed my issues to him. I get if a car sell i cant test drive it but so many other issues hasnt made the process enjoyable. He does get it so were starting again. As soon as an auto lands i can test drive before its going to be sold .

They get deliveries wed / fri but have no control ordering, they get what vw sends. So now i have to wait for a call and hope its not to long. Drove the manual today but need both driven to make the right choice.

Hopefully back on track.

Finally, finally got to test drive an auto today but as it was a last minute call in work i have to go back in to place the order over the weekend. Gives me a day to decide... pretty certain it will be auto though. Test drive was very good :D

From the sound of it, it drove well then ?

You have done the right thing spc369, definitely best to try before you buy.

I considered a DSG auto too, but was a bit concerned that it would zap some of the power of the little engine, so I wasn't sure.

I really wanted to try one, but like you the dealer couldn't offer a DSG auto test drive, so I ordered a manual as had tried a couple of them.

Maybe I should have taken a punt on one, but I wasn't that brave :(

Tbh comparing the manual against the auto they were both super smooth so either is a good choice. The auto prob does lose a bit of power and a tad less mpg but im coming from an auto box so just had to justify the extra outlay for peace of mind. And i dont drive as fast as i used to

Will be ordering over weekend so ill join the waiting for news / arrival club..... im thinking i will be oct/nov.

Thank you spec 369

Dealer said delivery in 12 weeks, but looking at some of the post on this excellent site that seems optimistic. Bought a few new cars in the past this one has captured my imagination - can't wait, its a bit of a surprise / present. Went for the new VW Aqua colour, haven't seen any in real life only photos hoping its as good as it looks
