Clutch burnt out after 7,000 miles

Has anyone else ever had this problem, it appears rife in the T-Roc, the dealer is trying to say it’s my style of driving, I’ve been driving for 60yrs and never ever burnt out a clutch, I’ve “googled” this problem and it does appear to happen a LOT, until VW admit to it being a fault, the customers are having to pay £1,500 for new clutches etc, some people are saying this has happened more than once to them, any help would be appreciated!

You would have to have a pretty bad driving style to burn out a clutch in 7000 miles..!.. Keep pressing your Dealer and contact VW Customer Services..

I seem to remember reading on the UK Polos forum that the problem was largely confined to cars with the 5-speed gearbox. IIRC it was suggested that first gear was so high as to require the clutch to be slipped to avoid stalling on moving off. Hope this helps.

Most of the clutch problems were on the automatic gearbox. They have now changed those dry clutches to wet clutches.

No issues here after 8000 miles. I've got the 6 speed manual though.
