I am about to buy a T-Cross :). Folding mirrors in general is quite a MUST (driving in London). If I don't take the electrical folding option, do they fold at all? I.e. manually, "by force". Or is the mechanical moving (folding) part is also added only when option is taken?

Yup, the regular mirrors will fold if you push them in by hand.

Question on folding mirrors:

Do they only fold if you are going lower than a certain speed - mine seem to fold when I am stopped or going slowly when the switch is in the correct position. It seems if I am going quickly they do not fold even if I lower my speed. I cannot find anything in the manual regarding speed so I wondered if it was a fault or an unwritten rule :)

Why would you want them to fold when the car is moving..?

IF you live in the country in the UK and drive down narrow lanes just about wide enough for the car you'd want to fold them.

But that is not answering my question, I know how to drive...

OK.. I live in the UK and if a road was that narrow, I wouldn't drive down it..!
However, to answer your question...the electric mirrors are designed to fold in when the car comes to a standstill and the engine is switched off, for parking etc.. I'm pretty sure there is no way to fold them, electrically, while the car is moving.
I think the only way for you would be to switch the mirrors to manual and then fold them in by hand..

I’m not 100% sure but I would imagine having door mirrors in position so you can see behind you at all times when the car engine is running would be a legal requirement

Switch the mirrors to manual - ah yes - when the manual states do not fold electric mirrors yourself - and as there is no manual switch it would be difficult.

Legal to have mirrors out, another reply that does not help .

Ah well, lesson learned on the T Cross forum for me - I have asked the dealer so will find out later this week.
