Fixed cost maintenance
Fixed cost maintenance
Went to pay for my T Cross today ready for collection later in the week , Dealer quoted me for the 3 year Fixed price Maintenance package £649.00 / £17.96 PCM for 12k miles per year.
Didn’t seem so bad a deal at first glance , disks and pads covered ,three services etc ..but then I read the terms and they quote Fixed servicing for less than 10k miles and Flexible servicing over 10k miles per year.
I want fixed servicing ,the thoughts of a possible 20000 mile oil change interval and perhaps only 2 services for £649 suddenly seems a poor deal.
Anyone had this deal with VW and what have your experiences been.?

Re: Fixed cost maintenance
Yes, it is detailed in the VW Fixed-cost maintenance Driver’s guide, the dealer pointed me at it when I sorted out my maintenance package ?
As I am on a 10,000 mile package, I agreed with my dealer that I would be on a fixed service and get one every year.
I believe my car has been set as such, I will have to see if it is possible to confirm this by having a look through the car settings.
I thought it was worth the extra for the maintenance on top, so that is what I went for, as I hope to avoid any bills, but then I guess they will always find something that is excluded
I Can't seem to attach the guide here in pdf form, so here are a few extracts..

Re: Fixed cost maintenance
Surely most of those "service and maintenance" covered items would be covered under the standard warranty anyway.?
Re: Fixed cost maintenance
Yes fully agree ....but if you could get 3 services ,3 years breakdown cover and at least one set of dealer fit pads possibly front discs you would easily be quids in but thats the catch methinks ,you wont.
If you average 12k a year like I do and mainly lots of journeys ,local runs not many motorway miles and intend to keep the car for more than 3 years the flexible servicing would not suit at all .
Basically if dealer says I can have fixed servicing option with this deal I would consider taking it otherwise the £199 two service package makes more sense.

That's exactly what I thought...!
Must now try to find the £199 deal......the standard price seems to be £299..

Re: Fixed cost maintenance
I got the £199 deal. It appears to specify 1 oil change service and 1 oil change and inspection.
SEL DSG Energetic orange, keyless entry, folding mirrors, auto headlights, chrome strip on boot, spacesaver, Park assist and 17" Clayton alloys. Ordered 25th July, expected delivery 30th September. Collection mid October.
Re: Fixed cost maintenance
Same here....£199 for first two services. Seems a bargain to me.
Re: Fixed cost maintenance
So how does one get the 199 deal. Is this only available when negotiating new car price?
Re: Fixed cost maintenance
It was a deal offered with PCP on a new car along with discount off the purchase price
2019 T-Cross First Edition
Re: Fixed cost maintenance
I had the same deal offered. I didn’t want PCP but the deposit contribution and £199 servicing for 2 years were inducements to PCP. By far the best deal available although paying 4.6% will in the long run mitigates it.
