What is the best way to run a new engine in?

How long do you need to run it in for?
What is the maximum speed you would use during this time?
VW T-Cross R-Line 1.0 litre TSI 115ps Manual 5-door
Limestone Grey
Space-saving spare wheel
Winter pack
Reversing camera

Just dont go above 4000rpm for the first 1000 miles.

Dealers will tell you they dont need to be run in, but staying below 4000rpm for 1000 miles will keep everything tight.

Also, be gentle on the brakes for the first 100 miles.

Agreed, they don't need running in any more the worst thing you can do is drive it like it's a new born baby. I find it's best to give it a range of driving modest use and varied performance helps it bed in. Done this on all our new cars over the last decade and they perform well and have no issues. Even my current Tig coming up to 5 years and 40k miles is a sweet runner.
