Update

So after watching a few Video on replacing the Serpentine belt on these engines i decided to have a go at removing this belt that drives the alternator and AC pump only on our cars engine.myself.

So i removed the belt which now will eliminate AC Pump Alternator and serpentine belt tensioner pully.
when the belt was off i turned and wiggled by hand the tensioner ,AC pump pulley and Alternator Pully and tensioner.
the belt Tensioner seemed fine AC and Alternator seemed ok also really.
Anyway time for a very quick test drive without the belt on and instantly as soon as i gave the car half and full throttle
this weird noise has gone

We now know this noise is from one or more of these 3 components my best bet is AC Pump because that is starting to
get noisey on mine and this has changed the volume of the weird noise on both or cars when turned on and off ,listening at this noise.

Next step now booking into dealers
.
BY THE WAY THIS IS NOT AN ADVISABLE THING TO DO THE CAR WILL ONLY ALLOW YOU DRIVE A SMALL DISTANCE BEFORE SHUTTING DOWN ON LOW VOLTAGE PROTACAL SAFTEY INBUILT CODE.

i LOST DRIVE DSG STEERING ASSISTANCE AND THEN ENGINE WHILST TESTING.

THE REASON I HAVE TOLD YOU THIS IS BECAUSE IF YOU HEAR THIS NOISE IT IS ONE OR MORE OF THESE 3 COMPONENTS,BOOK IT INTO VW OR YOU LOCAL VW SPECIALIST PLEASE.
Thats great! Now that we know what the issue is, let me know how it goes at the dealers! I definitely will not be trying to do anything myself as I’m not experienced when it comes to that stuff haha! With Uni starting in a few days time I might pop down at the dealership which is nearer to Uni than my home and see what they think!

Hi,
I started to hear the same noise after 44000 km on a Skoda Kamiq 1.5 TSI DSG. After inspection at dealership and confirmation of noise with an engineer, we started inspecting the car underneath and I found a similar noise when hitting with the hand on the heat protection for the exhaust. After few pressings with the fingers and changing a bit the shape, seems that the noise is gone. There is a logical explanation as the engine vibrations can lead to a resonance on the exhaust heat shield which is a thin aluminum sheet.
Hi,

There has been this weird noise from my car which started about 3 months ago. Appears at anywhere below 3000 ish rpm with about 50% throttle input. It’s fairly audible at lower speeds, if the surroundings are reasonably quiet as well, but not so much at higher speeds (above 50 mph). I have posted the link for a youtube video. I have taken the car to the dealer 3 times now and every time, they were said they couldn’t hear it. I have changed fuel from E10 unleaded to E5 Super unleaded as well, but no difference. Any help on this, as to what it could be, would be helpful.
- best watched with headphones to better hear the noise.

Thanks!

I never managed to figure out what the exact cause for the noise was while I still had the T-Cross. Now, I’ve sold it for a Tiguan 2.0 TDI
