No spare wheel option

I think that the SEL spec is really good, but am trying to decide if I can live without a spare wheel.
Have heard too many tales of problems just having a repair kit and compressor.
It is not even offered as an optional extra, so will proberably go for something else instead.
Shame really, as I really like the car

Yes, approaching the dealer is the way to go, I'm sure there must be a work around.
The brochure mentions a Tyre mobility kit for the S'' model, but nothing above that..
I have run the configurator again, and at the end clicked on Standard Equipment for the SEL - near the bottom of the list it states 'Tyre mobility set in lieu of spare wheel'
I did Email VW customer services, but got a vague reply back as follows:-

Thank you for contacting us regarding your vehicle.

Unfortunately, we are unable to comment on any future plans to add a jack as an optional extra as we do not currently have any information regarding this. It is something we can add to new product ideas to be considered.

I am glad that you are enjoying your new Volkswagen T Cross SEL, I hope it serves you well and you keep enjoying it.

If you have any further queries, please call us on the number provided.

Thank you for contacting Volkswagen UK.

Kind regards

I replied that it would be a good trick if I could enjoy driving a T Cross as there are none in the country yet.
I may be writing to a machine that scans and guesses an appropriate reply

Me again, still going on about the spare wheel.
I spotted on the T Roc forum that there appears to be 3 types of spare wheel, namely:
Full size
Space saver
Space and weight saving spare wheel

It's the last one that is being offered as an option on the T Cross.
Does anybody know how they actually compare?
It must be a bit skinny, but as long as it gets me out of trouble I can live with that, plus you don't loose so much boot space.

Good luck in your search.
For my part I have a T Cross on order, including a spare wheel. I am happy with a space saver as I can utilise what small space is below the floor.
I would keep the floor in the higher position as I managed to get the dealer to throw in a reversible mat as a deal breaker, valued at ÂŁ77,

T Cross R Line DSG Reef Blue. Spare wheel, Folding Mirrors, Rear view Camera, Park Assist.
